Horde Composition
Most hordes are 70-90% standard types with special infected mixed in. This creates varied encounters where standard zombies provide numbers while special types add danger.
Scaling Difficulty
Massive hordes (50+) should be rare and terrifying. They're meant to drive plot (force relocation, destroy bases) not be regular combat encounters.
